There is so much untapped talent and expertise among women both in North America and developing areas of the world. Unfortunately, so much of this expertise and talent remains untapped as common hurdles to the success of women entrepreneurs remain: career interruptions, underdeveloped networks, balancing family and career demands and most importantly limited access to capital.
There are certain facts that cannot be denied or ignored. Economies around the globe, from Europe and North Anerica to Asia and Africa, are struggling to varying degrees. We also know that entrepreurenship is key to stimulating the growth of our economies. With almost 50% of the world’s population being female we cannot afford to ignore this key segment of potential economic growth. To do so would be economic folly. As in any business, the fundamentals of companies started and operated by women must make sound financial sense.
